Alexis and Andria, two spirited seniors, are poised to make
history as they join a group of cheerleaders from across the nation in the
iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
In a remarkable journey from Hardin High School to the
grandeur of New York City, Alexis Madill and Andria Yellowmule, two spirited
seniors, are poised to make history as they join a group of cheerleaders from
across the nation in the iconic macy's thanksgiving day parade . Their
excitement is palpable, and the honor of being selected for this
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is a testament to their dedication and skill.
The journey began when their coach supported them in
submitting an audition video and application, propelling them onto the grand
stage of the Thanksgiving Day Parade. "I was really excited because I
never have gotten to do anything like this before," expresses Andria,
capturing the genuine thrill that accompanies such a prestigious event. Alexis
echoes the sentiment, eagerly anticipating the entire experience and relishing
the chance to be in a new place.
Cheerleading, as a sport, demands skill, athleticism, and
rigorous practice. The Hardin duo, with less than a week to prepare, is set to
showcase their talents alongside a diverse group of performers. Their goal
extends beyond personal achievement – they aspire to be role models for girls
who look up to them, embodying the spirit of determination and excellence.
As they navigate the bustling streets of New York, Alexis and
Andria are eager to absorb the city's energy and iconic landmarks, including
the Statue of Liberty. The duo is quick to express gratitude to sponsors like
Mosaic Threads, Apsaalooke’ Housing Authority, and Crow Tribal legislators,
whose support has played a pivotal role in turning their dream of participating
in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade into a reality.
In the midst of this momentous occasion, the pair is already
shaping plans for the coming year. Both Andria and Alexis have their sights set
on enlisting with the National Guard, a decision fueled by personal stories of
family members who served. Alexis shares, "My late aunt was in the Navy,
and I started my journey after she passed away, so I wanted to do something in
honor of her." Andria adds, "Nobody in my family has ever done
anything like that, so I just kind of wanted to be different."
